2019 Sevier County Fair Adult
"Inspire U" Classes


"Inspire U" classes are always provided for FREE. In some classes you may be asked to bring a couple of items to use in your project or pay a small fee to cover materials. Class sizes are limited. In order to ensure that we have enough materials for everyone, Pre-Registration is required. Please contact Lee Gray at: leegscf@gmail.com to reserve your space.


May 28:  Scratch Art  -  (10am - 12pm) at the My People Senior Activity Center.
Scratch Art is using a paper board that is covered with wax and using a template you scratch the drawing into the board. You will complete a project during class. Framing is available for $6.00, if you desire. Class is limited to 8 people. Instructor is Diantha Currier.

June 11: Cornhole - Fun For All  -  (10am - 12pm+) at Sevier County Fairgrounds
Learn the basic rules and regulations to compete in this year's competition during the Sevier County Fair. Hands on experience is the best teacher. Open to all ages. Instructor is Dave Lucas.

June 25: Dollhouse Miniatures  -  (6pm - 8pm) at King Family Library
Learn how to make Miniature Items from recycled materials to put into a dollhouse. Class is limited to 15 people. Instructor is Christina Adams.

June 25: Wood Burning Made Fun  -  (10am - 12pm) at the My People Senior Activity Center.
Come enjoy a fun two hour class that will teach you the basics of wood burning. You will begin and complete a small project that you can take home. Bring a pencil and the desire to try something different. Class is limited to 8 people. Instructor is Diantha Currier.

July 1:  Home Canning Basics  -  (6pm - 8pm) at the UT Extension Office next to the Fairgrounds.
Learn the principles of canning foods at home using safe, updated research-based methods. Also learn the "secrets of what judges look for" when evaluating canning entries at the Sevier County Fair. Instructor is Linda Hyder.

July 13: Greeting Cards  -  (11am - 1pm) at King Family Library
Come create (3) three different Greeting Cards that can be entered in the 2019 Sevier County Fair. Class is limited to 12 participants aged 15 years or older. A suggested donation of $2.00 is requested to cover the cost of supplies.

July 18: Yard Art Class  -  (6pm - 8pm) at the UT Extension Office next to the Fairgrounds.
Dishware glasses, beads and other materials are used to create BEAUTIFUL works of Yard Art or Home D├ęcor. A fee of $5.00 per person is required to cover the expense of supplies. Open to anyone 13 years of age or older. Instructor is Tammie Browning.

July 22: Painting Wood Signs  -  (6pm - 8pm) at King Family Library
Learn the proper technique to getting crisp lines, stenciling and clear coating wood signs. Class is limited to 12 people. Instruction is Sonny Adams.

July 23: Quilt Judging  -  (2pm - 3pm+) at King Family Library
Have you ever wondered what a judge is looking for when they are judging quilts for the County Fair? Come and learn all the intricacies for you to use in your next quilt project. Instructor is Bonnie Goolsby.

Learn the "Secrets of what judges are looking for" in evaluating Photography winners at the Sevier County Fair. Instructor is Regina Beeler from Honeysuckle Hills.
